SAJC 48th College Day
Shine Among Them Like Stars in the Sky

On 25 July 2025, St. Andrew’s Junior College marked its 48th College Day — an occasion that reflects both continuity and renewal in our school’s journey. In the presence of our Guest of Honour, Professor Ivy Ng, Board of Governors, School Leaders, staff, alumni, students, partners, and guests, the college celebrated a year of growth, gratitude, and shared purpose.
The theme for this year’s celebration — “Shine among them, like stars in the sky” — invited all Saints to reflect on how they might live with quiet conviction and bold compassion. Echoing last year’s call to “Let your light shine before others,” this theme points us toward a vision of influence anchored not in recognition, but in service.

In her keynote address, our Guest-of-Honour, Professor Ivy Ng, shared a powerful and memorable message built around four key attributes — the ABCDs of leading a purposeful life in today's world. She encouraged out students to be:
-
Adaptable: To embrace change and remain flexible in an evolving world.
-
Bold: To take courageous steps even in the face of uncertainty.
-
Compassionate: To lead with empathy, kindness, and a heart for others.
-
Determined: To press on with perseverance and grit, never giving up in the pursuit of what is right and meaningful.
These four qualities not only align with our school’s WISE and TRUE values, but also serve as guiding lights for every Saint seeking to lead and serve in the years ahead. Professor Ng's words deeply resonated with the college community, affirming the importance of character, courage, and compassion in shaping a better tomorrow.

As we look back on 2024, we are reminded that every achievement is the result of many hearts aligned in belief and action. At SAJC, we hold firm to our three guiding beliefs:
-
No one is here by chance.
-
Every Saint can be empowered to continually reach for their potential.
-
Every Saint is called to lead a purpose-driven and others-centred life.
We close this year’s College Day with hearts full of gratitude, and eyes set firmly on the horizon. In the lives of every student who steps forward with courage, every teacher who nurtures with hope, and every partner who walks alongside us in faith — we see the stars rising.
Together, we move Up and On.
