Direct School Admission (DSA) - 2027 Intake
St Andrew’s Junior College (SAJC) invites Secondary 4 students and their
equivalents from Singapore mainstream schools to apply for admission to
our Junior College programme commencing in 2027. DSA offers
talented students the opportunity to secure a place at SAJC before GCE
'O' Level results are released.
Successful applicants must meet MOE's eligibility criteria for
the two-year Junior College course, which is assessed primarily on GCE
'O' Level examination results. For full details on the DSA-JC exercise,

We welcome applications from students with above-average academic results who have demonstrated outstanding talent in any of the areas listed below.

Modern Dance

Applicants should demonstrate a high level of dance proficiency with evidence of achievement in at least one of the following:

Active participation in school dance group with a record of notable performances

Formal dance certification: RAD Ballet Grade 8 or equivalent; CSTD minimum Grade 6 or equivalent; Jazz examination qualifications

Gymnastics background with minimum 2 years of experience

Participation in national or international dance competitions and/or state representations

English Drama
-
A demonstrated passion for and understanding of theatre as a collaborative art form. We are looking for students who appreciate character development, stagecraft, ensemble work, and theatrical production.

Active involvement in your school's Drama CCA, with SYF participation preferred.

Acting and/or staging experience—such as directing, stage management, playwriting, or technical crew—outside the SYF Arts Presentation is valued.
-
Candidates with acting or production crew experience in TV, video, film, or professional theatre companies (e.g., Act 3 International) will be favorably considered.

Shortlisted applicants must successfully pass an audition and a panel interview. The audition typically takes the form of a rehearsal, where applicants may participate in improvisation activities and games to demonstrate their versatility and stage presence.
Sports
The following criteria apply to all sports: Basketball, Badminton, Bowling, Football, Hockey, Rugby, Netball, Tennis, Track & Field, and Touch Rugby.
All Sports CCAs

Language and Humanities
The following applies to Chinese Language & Literature, Malay Language & Literature, and Tamil Language & Literature.
Academic — Mother Tongue Language results

The following subjects, if offered, provide added advantage (preferred grades shown):

CCA — language and culture involvement

Note to all Applicants: Applicants who do not fully meet the criteria above are still welcome to apply. Shortlisting will take into account demonstrated ability and potential.

Closing date for Phase 1 applications. Applications received after this time will not be considered for Phase 1.
Phase 2 deadline: 19 August 2026, 3:00 pm
Closing date for Phase 2 applications. Phase 1 applicants who were not offered a place are automatically considered — no resubmission required.

Please ensure your form is complete before submitting — incomplete applications will not be considered.
Phase 1 applicants: If you applied in Phase 1 and did not receive an offer, you do not need to reapply. Your application will automatically be considered in Phase 2.
Outcome notification: Only successful applicants will be contacted by email and/or phone. If you do not hear from us, your application was unsuccessful.
Accepting an offer — what you need to know
Once you have accepted SAJC's DSA Offer, you will not be eligible to participate in the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE), as long as you meet the eligibility criteria for JC admission based on your GCE O-Level examination results.
You are also not allowed to transfer to another school after the release of the GCE O-Level examination results. You are expected to honour your commitment to the college and your chosen CCA for the duration of your studies in SAJC.
Students who do not fulfil their DSA commitment without valid reason may be required to transfer out to another school.
In addition, applicant’s parents have to acknowledge, understand and agree to the following:

The Government of Singapore may collect, use, and disclose any personal data which I have provided in this application for the purpose of facilitating my child’s junior college arrangement and where my child is allocated to a DSA-JC school, for administering and managing my child’s relationship with that school and the Ministry of Education.

Once my child is successfully allocated to a DSA-JC school, he/she will not be able to participate in the annual Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) to opt for another school/course.
-
My child is required to honour his/her commitment to the allocated DSA-JC school for the duration of the JC course.
-
I undertake not to transfer my child to another school after the release of the O Level results.
-
Should the other parent contest my child’s allocation to a DSA-JC school, I undertake to resolve the issue with him/her directly.

All the information provided by me in this application is true and correct.

The Ministry of Education is entitled to remove my child from the allocated DSA-JC school and enroll my child in any school as may be determined by the Ministry of Education in its sole discretion if:
a. I have provided false information in this application;
b. I am unable to resolve any dispute with the child’s other parent with regard to my child’s choice of school as stated above; or
c. Any person (including me or the other parent or any other person connected with my child) has offered or given or agreed to give to any other person any gift or consideration of any kind as an inducement or reward for showing favour or disfavour to any person in relation to my child’s DSA application.
