OCIP Cambodia Trip

From 22 November to 5 December 2014, a second group of 23 J1 students went to Cambodia for their Overseas Community Involvement Programme trip to Cambodia. They went to different Non-Governmental Organisations to find out more about what they do as well as to help the local community.

At Pour Un Sourire D’Enfant (PSE), they interacted with children who once worked in slums. Alongside Operation Hope Foundation (OHF) carpenters, they built a wooden house and a toilet to improve the lives of the villagers in Prey Veng, Cambodia. Students also cooked and performed for orphans at Hope Village Prey Veng, an orphanage managed by OHF.

Overall they were inspired by the common spirit of determination, hope and drive that the Cambodians possessed and presented them with a new outlook on life and a greater passion to serve.
