2026 Saints Eureka!
The Spirit of Inquiry at Saints Eureka! 2026
The field was abuzz with energy this week as our JC1 students took part in a long-standing college tradition: Saints Eureka! This science-based challenge serves as a significant milestone for our newest Saints, moving them from the excitement of Orientation into a space where curiosity and collaboration take center stage.
The Challenge: Engineering with Purpose
This year, classes were tasked with constructing air-propelled rockets using only recyclable materials. The competition pushed students to think holistically—balancing the technical aerodynamics required for the "Longest Flight" with the creative flair needed for the "Best Design" category.
Building More Than Rockets
Beyond the mechanics of flight, the day was truly about the chemistry of a new class coming together. Working in teams, students had to navigate different ideas and perspectives, practicing the humility and respect that turn a group of individuals into a unified community. The execution of the event was also a testament to the college's culture of mentorship, with JC2 seniors stepping up to guide and support their juniors throughout the challenge.

As the rockets soared (and sometimes tumbled!), the laughter and cheering reflected a growing sense of belonging. We celebrate every student who dared to experiment, take risks, and support their peers in this first of many shared adventures at SAJC.
