Moral Education

“Thus you will walk in the ways of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous” - Proverbs 2:20

With the St Andrew’s Village (SAV) vision to engender a Home of Servant Leaders who would bring life to the Nations, Moral Education (ME) in SAJC is integrated in our college’s curriculum for both JC1 and JC2 levels. The desired outcome of ME in SAJC is to develop Saints to be principled servant-leaders who will uphold the SAV values of WISE (Wonder, Integrity, Self-Discipline, Excellence) and TRUE (Thanksgiving, Resilience, Unity and Empathy) throughout their lives.

The ME lessons are designed to challenge our students to think critically about moral issues in our society today where they would be given ample opportunities to discuss in groups and to present their opinions in class. ME tutors, who are trained to facilitate discussions, will carry out problem-based learning and guide discussions on case studies of moral dilemmas in the 21st Century. The SAJC ME curriculum aims to develop Saints to be mature and confident individuals who will be able to constructively manage themselves and their relationships with others based on a moral compass premised on spiritual principles. At the end of every ME lesson, students are also encouraged to ruminate on their learning points and how they could apply them in their lives.
