Moral Education in St Andrew’s Junior College
“Thus you will walk in the ways of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous”
-- Proverbs 2:20

With SAJC’s vision to empower every Saint to be a Servant Leader with an Exemplary Character, Moral Education (ME) is integrated in our college’s curriculum and the lessons are conducted fortnightly. Through a Scheme of Work that is aligned to the college’s core values of Resilience, Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Humility (RICH), the desired outcomes of ME are for every Saint to ‘know the good, desire the good’ and to do the good’.

The ME lessons are designed to challenge our students to think critically about moral issues in our society today where they would be given ample opportunities to discuss in groups and to present their opinions in class. Through case-studies based pedagogies, the SAJC ME curriculum aims to develop Saints to be mature and confident individuals who will be able to constructively manage themselves and their relationships with others based on a moral compass premised on spiritual principles. At the end of every ME lesson, students are also encouraged to ruminate on their learning points and how they could apply them in their lives.
